April 8, 2020 James LaMattery UCSD Petition UCSD ExpansionRead or edit the petition Dear Planning Director Robert Clossin In its Long Range Development Plan, UCSD made a promise that planners will "maintain a positive and productive relationship with area residents, officials, and agencies," I would like to voice my concern over the proposed project at the intersection at North Torrey Pines Road and Revelle College Drive. The heights are depicted from 9 to 21 story buildings for future enrollement of 42,000 students. This particular project is in the vicinity of a very busy and already congested intersection at North Torrey Pines Road and La Jolla Village Drive. La Jolla is currently experiencing the negative result of increasing traffic congestion during peak vehicular travel and during daylight hours from workers and office personel who live outside of our Community. I'm concerned about inadequate parking spaces proposed for the students, faculty, staff, and maintanence personal that the proposed project will bring to the area. I believe that this added density to the campus will cause VMT (Vehicular Miles Traveled) to reach an unsustainable level. I would like to see UCSD work in total transparency and cooperation with our Community on this and future expansion projects by working together prior to any project finalizations. **your signature** BCC yourself Sign Now Share this with your friends:
